From being an olympic gymnast, to becoming the most decorated American gymnast in history, to creating her own lifestyle brand, to conquering cancer, Shannon Miller has done it all. From the discipline and mental strength instilled within her through her years as an athlete, Shannon knew she had what it took to harness those teachings into becoming an entrepreneur. She created Shannon Miller Lifestyle: Health and Fitness for Women in July 2010 utilizing her knowledge as an athlete and as a wife and mother to guide women through their own healthy journeys. In January 2011, Shannon had to bring together everything she’d learned as a gymnast and through the mantra of her own company to save her own life, as she was diagnosed with a rare form of ovarian cancer. As she had her entire life, Shannon pushed through and kept moving forward, never letting her situation get the best of her.
Today, she has successfully defeated cancer and continues to help other woman stay aware of how to best take care of themselves and live a healthy lifestyle. In conjunction with her lifestyle brand and in being an advocate for health and wellness in women and children, Shannon recently opened the online store for her brand new women’s fitness clothing line: Salto.
I can’t thank her enough for the opportunity to speak with her about her journey. Having been a gymnast throughout my adolescent years, I grew up idolizing this woman not just because of her success as a US Olympian, but because of the driven, hardworking, and genuine person that she is. I hope that you enjoy my interview with the unbeatable Shannon Miller.
