Moses said to the Lord, “Pardon your servant, Lord. I have never been eloquent, neither in the past nor since you have spoken to your servant. I am slow of speech and tongue.”
The Lord said to him, “Who gave human beings their mouths? Who makes them deaf or mute? Who gives them sight or makes them blind? Is it not I, the Lord? Now go; I will help you speak and will teach you what to say.”
But Moses said, “Pardon your servant, Lord. Please send someone else.”
Who if not you? If you are looking around, waiting for someone else to step up and make the difference you want to see, and no one seems to be in sight, maybe that’s because you’re trying to ignore the fact that the person most qualified to step up and effect change right at this very moment is you. Stop looking around. Stop expecting someone else to do it. Stop waiting for the perfect sign telling you to go. There is never going to be a perfect time to begin, but the only time to begin is right now. Tomorrow is never promised to us, so we need to stop putting things off until then acting like it is. You are uniquely qualified and capable to carry out the task at hand, but only if you step up and begin now. Don’t let time pass you by. Beat those odds, determine that in spite of everything you will go the distance, and never ever cease moving forward.
