Duncan Wardle, former VP of Innovation and Creativity of the Walt Disney Company, asked this question of us at Lou Mongello’s Momentum Workshop Weekend:

When was the last time you had butterflies in your stomach?

Can you remember?

In episode 51 of Keep Moving Forward, entrepreneur Deanna Novak offered, “if it terrifies you, it is probably exactly what you need to be doing.” In other words, if it gives you butterflies, it’s probably a good indication that you need to dive headfirst into that newfound challenge.

So, today, think back to the last time you felt the uncertain fear of those little wings floating around in your stomach, and consider how you might push yourself this week to experience them again. Do something that moves the needle forward, do something that makes you better, do something that scares you…and change the world.

The opposite of bravery is not cowardice, it’s conformity.
